Swim England North East Region Open Championships November 4/5th 2023

A squad of City’s swimmers who all train with Bradford Aquatics Competition Programme travelled to Ponds Forge Sheffield to compete in the North East Region Open Championships.

Medals were hard to come by for City’s swimmers however it was Sophia Gledhill who claimed a third place finish to take home a bronze medal in the 16/under 200m butterfly. Her time of 2.19.32 also placed her fourth in the open event

She also had top ten placings in the 100m butterfly and 200m backstroke.

Other top ten finishers in the 16 and under and open events were, Alex Dunn, (5), Quinn-Austin Kelly (4), Gina Warrior (3), Dawid Naglik (2), Imogen Tiffany (2), Amerlia Jewell (1), Jasmine Shay (1) and Will Skiggs (1).

Seasoned finalist Alex Dunn claimed no less than five new club records and she and Quinn-Austin Kelly claimed five new National Winter Championships qualifying times between them.
