BRITISH SWIMMING NATIONAL SUMMER CHAMPIONSHIPS SHEFFIELD PONDS FORGE (50M) 22nd-28th JULY 2023
City had three representatives at this prestigious meet which is the highest level of age group swimming in Great Britain and means they are in the top twenty four swimmers in the country.
Sophia Gledhill produced the highest place finishes. She claimed eleventh place in the sixteen years 200m butterfly in a time of 2.24.27 and twelfth place in the same age group 400m individual medley in a time of 5.14.45. Both these times were personal best times.
Swimming in the nineteen years and over age group Archie Minto smashed the club record in the 200m butterfly in a time of 2.06.22 to finish in fourteenth place.
Finally at this meet Quinn-Austin Kelly swimming in the fourteen/fifteen age group claimed a top twenty finish when he placed nineteenth in the 200m breaststroke, his time was 2.35.18.
All the swimmers train with Bradford Council’s Leisure Services Aquatic Competition Programme under the guidance of Senior Coach Andy Pearce and Development Coach Sarah Fisher
