Bradford Dolphin S.C.
Founded in 1888 Bradford Dolphin is one of the oldest clubs in the Country. In the early days we were famous for water polo winning many National Championships and were the first club to win 6 national titles in a row. Today we concentrate on competitive swimming. Our objectives are to improve and coach our members in the art of swimming so that those who wish to can progress and compete in appropriate galas. We encourage our swimmers to progress to the City of Bradford training scheme of which we were founder members and to which we offer our full support.
A voluntary committee elected by the membership runs the club and retains the services of a Chief Coach who has full responsibility for swimming matters and is helped a group of enthusiastic volunteers.
We offer 5 training sessions at Buttershaw School, Queensbury Pool, Bradford Grammar School and Rhodesway pool. We do like all new swimmers to attend the Queensbury session first where they will be given a free trial and assessment by our Chief Coach. If the swimmer and our coach are happy they will be recommended to certain sessions. The new swimmers can swim as non-members for a maximum of six weeks after which they are expected to become members.

Bradford Swimming Club
Bradford Swimming Club was founded in 1965 and has since this date endeavoured to teach children in the Bradford area to swim as well as coach them in the techniques and stamina required for competitive swimming. We currently have approximately 100 swimming members who compete in swimming galas in the Bradford, Leeds and Huddersfield areas.
We have a fully qualified ASA Coach and several ASA Teachers and Assistant Teachers to provide the best possible tuition to our swimmers. We cater for a broad spectrum of swimming abilities from complete beginners to County standard swimmers and our Membership Fees and Training Session Charges are probably the lowest in the area.
It's not all swimming though as we have a very active Social side as we pride ourselves on being a very friendly and family based Club. Throughout the year we organise Disco's, Horse Racing Nights, Car Treasure Hunts etc to which all our swimmers and their families are most welcome. The highlight of our social calendar has to be our exchange visits to our Twin Club in Germany, Monchengladbacher Schwimmverein.

Ilkley Swimming Club
Ilkley Swimming Club - Pennine Shield Winners for 2005!
The club meets three times a week at the Ilkley swimming pool. Each session is split into 2 sessions - one for juniors and one for seniors. The aim of the club is to develop talent and prepare swimmers for galas - in particular the junior session looks to build stamina and improve stroke, with swimmers progressing to the senior group dependent on ability. James is aiming to allow stronger swimmers to build stamina further by attending both sessions.
The minimum entry requirement for the junior group is to be able to swim one length competently in 3 different strokes, and to swim 4 lengths continually in the swimmers best stroke. The minimum age is 6, although most are above this age. Seniors should also be able to swim 3 strokes competently, and manage at least 40 lengths per 45 minute session. The club enters a number of galas each year – The Pennine Shield (with Skipton, Bingley and West Craven), and a number of Airedale and Wharfedale and Bradford Galas.
