A small squad of City’s swimmers competed in the Sport Aid Meet held at the John Charles Centre for Sport in Leeds. In this highly competitive meet bronze medals went to David Brown in the boys 14/15yrs 50m breaststroke and Luke Constantine in the same age group 50m and 100m butterfly. David also featured in the 100m and 200m breaststroke and 50m and 100m backstroke finals, whilst Luke featured in the 200m freestyle and 50m breaststroke final.
Fifteen year old Ben Balmforth was delighted to achieve his National Qualifying time in the 100m butterfly in a time of 1.01.52 and also finaled in the 50m freestyle event
Michael Bonson showed his versatility with top ten places in the sixteen years and over 100m breaststroke, 50m backstroke and 100m freestyle finals and the only girl to final on this occasion was Rebecca Lund who clamed ninth spot in the girls 12/13 yrs 200m breaststroke.

Again, some nice swims and pleasing PB’s. Congratulations to Ben Balmforth on gaining a National QT on 100 fly. Thanks to Kath and Michael Bonson for helping on poolside and ensuring things ran smoothly.
