City of Sheffield Premier Long Course Open Meet

A squad of nine City swimmers travelled to Sheffield to join elite swimmers at the City of Sheffield Premier Meet.
Rostrum places were hard come by but sixteen year old Luke Constantine in the fifteen and over 100m butterfly swam a personal best time of 1.00.14 which was just outside his national qualifying time for this event. He also swam to a best time of 2.03.48 in the 200m freestyle and competed in the 50m butterfly finishing in a time of 28.03.
Following his recent success at the National Championships Dimitry Kadochnikov narrowly missed his national time in the fifteen years and over 200m individual medley when he finished in a time of 2.16.75. He also swam to a personal best time and North East Qualifying time in the 100m butterfly and a North East. Time in the 400m freestyle.
North East qualifying times were the order of the day for the remainder of the swimmers competing.
Sixteen year old Dyon Whitley who recently became the British Year eleven schools Biathlon Champion gained two north east times in the 50m and 100m freestyle.
Sixteen year old Lucy Burnside claimed four times in the 200m freestyle and individual medley along with the 50m and 100m freestyle.
Recently returned to City of Bradford Kristian Hobson showed his form when he gained personal best and qualifying times in the 50m and 100m freestyle and a best time in the 50m breaststroke.
Jamie Brown qualified in the 50m and 100m freestyle and a personal best in 100m backstroke.
Sisters Jenna and Niki Chatburn both had qualifying times in their individual 100m breaststroke swims. Niki’s time of 1.23.88 was also a personal best.
Finally Ben Balmforth’s time of 1.01.43 in the 100m butterfly was both a qualifying time and a personal best.
