To comply with both ASA guidelines for this type of gala and also ensure that it is exclusive to the swimming clubs in the City of Bradford Metropolitan District Area and Bradford Swimming Development Group the Rising Stars Gala will only be promoted to the 6 clubs in Bradford:
- Bradford Dolphin
- Bradford
- Bingley
- Ilkey
- Keighley
- City of Bradford (Winning Edge squad only)
The Gala is aimed at younger swimmers who have not progressed to county level (Yorkshire) swimming and those who do not regularly 'swim out' at open meets. To clarify the qualification for the gala, we have therefore set a upper level qualifying time to exclude faster swimmers who swim out at electronically timed meets. Times swum at club, local and previous Rising Stars meets will not exclude swimmers from entering. We trust this sets the correct balance for the level of the meet and will encourage a good competition between all local swimmers at the Rising Stars meet.
