Some very pleasing pb’s during the meet. On the down side I’m a little disappointed at the number of swimmers that persist on competing on 50’s that are not in the programme of national events and are ignoring the slightly more demanding events that they have actually qualified for. This has to change.

Medals were hard to come by at the North East Region Senior Junior Championships with tough opposition from clubs such as City of Sheffield, City of Newcastle and City of Leeds but City’s swimmers were placed in several finals which provided valuable experience for the future.
Ilkley’s Sian Morgan fresh from her record breaking swim at the recent Harrogate Meet finished in fifth place in the100m butterfly and 200m individual medley.
Breaststroke specialist Jenna Chatburn of Cononley claimed sixth spot in the 100m event and Hannah Midgley whose specialises in the longer events finished in tenth place in the 1500m freestyle.
