City of Bradford’s age groups swimmers continued to develop their racing skills when they travelled to Harrogate for the North East Region BAGCAT Championships.

Sian Morgan won City’s only gold medal in the girls 100m Butterfly in a time of 1.05.87. She also went on to win silver in the 100m and 200m freestyle.

New to the North East rostrum were ten year old Ellie Talbot of Keighley, thirteen year old Hannah Midgley and fourteen year old George Mack. Ellie finished in silver medal place in the 100m backstroke and in bronze medal place in the 100m freestyle

Hannah and George both won medals in the longer 1500m event with both finishing in a very creditable times of 19.05.39 and 17.19.23 respectively .These times gave Hannah a silver medal and George a bronze. George also finished in fourth place in the 100m backstroke and he rounded off an excellent days swimming with sixth place finishes in the 400m freestyle and 400m individual medley.

Breaststroke specialist Niki Chatburn just missed the medals with a fourth place finish in the girls eleven years 100m breaststroke. And emerging swimmer Sam O’Donohoe came in seventh place in the boys thirteen years 100m freestyle and in eigth place in the 100m backstroke.

James Dawson of Skipton continued to show his versatility in the boys twelve years 200m events with final placings in the 200m butterfly, breaststroke, backstroke and individual medley.

Isaac Ehdieb put in some good all round performances to be placed in fifth position in the boys thirteen years 200m breaststroke, sixth in the 100m freestyle and 200m backstroke and seventh in the 200m individual medley and 100m backstroke.
