The new John Charles Centre for Sport at Leeds was the setting for the home club’s B Grade Meet held over the weekend of 19/20th January.
Brother and Sister Lauren and Lewis Sharp made an impression on the meet with no less than four gold and three silver medals between them.
Swimming in the girls 11/12 years age group Lauren shone through with gold medals in the 200m backstroke and freestyle whilst brother Lewis swimming in the fifteen years and over events was on top on the podium in the 100m and 200m freestyle.
Silver medals came in the 200m individual medley for Lauren and the 100m butterfly and 200m individual medley for Lewis.
Double gold went to fourteen year old Melissa Speight in the 100m and 200m breaststroke and the gold medal tally was completed by Imogen Talbot in the girls 11/12 years 100m breaststroke and Michael Bonson in the fifteen years and over 200m butterfly.
Silver medals were awarded to Nicole Fordham in the 11/12years 100m butterfly, Jamie Brown in the 13/14yrs 100m butterfly, and in the fifteen years and over age group to Kirsty Mann in the 200m individual medley and Michel Bonson in the 100m breaststroke.
Twelve year old Lydia Biddiscombe came home with two bronze medals in the 200m individual medley and 200m freestyle and speeding tickets for exceeding the qualification time for her events in the 100m freestyle and 200m backstroke.
Both Lydia Biddiscombe and Lewis Sharp rose to the occasion and won their respective knockout skinz events.
Fellow Junior Development Squad swimmer Joshua Zenner also came home with speeding tickets in the 50m backstroke, freestyle and butterfly.
