LEEDS B GRADE MEET - JOHN CHARLES CENTRE FOR SPORT 22/01/2011
A squad of developing swimmers who all train with Bradford Aquatics Competition Programme competed at the John Charles Centre for Sport at the Leeds B Grade Meet. The meet was a good introduction to competitive swimming and produced some medal winning performances and a host of personal best times.
Siblings Emma and James Blaby hit the golden trail with wins in the10 years and 13/14 yrs 100m butterfly respectively. Emma also went home with bronze in the 100m freestyle. James also secured silver in the 50m backstroke and bronze in the 100m backstroke.
Swimming in the 11/12 years age groups Isobel Mawson clinched gold in the 50m backstroke and silver in the100m freestyle.
In the boys events Aidan Sheldon rose to the occasion when he came home first in 13/14 years 100m breaststroke and second in the shorter 50m event.
In the fifteen years and over events Ben Wortley was a double medal winner collecting silver in the 50m backstroke and bronze in the 100m backstroke.
Silver medals also went to Megan Lee, 100m butterfly, Megan Anderton, 50m breaststroke and Harriet Hoban; 100m butterfly all swimming in the 11/12 years age group.
Also hitting the medal winning trail with bronze medals were Hollie Evans, 100, breaststroke, Jordan Tate, 50m backstroke, Matthew Brown, 100m breaststroke and James Lund 100m backstroke.
