santa swim2007 sees our 25th Anniversary Christmas Open Meet. It will once again be held at Shipley Pool and combines a fantastic weekend of fast swimming with some festive fun!

Over the years we have developed certain traditions; Christmas decorations around the pool, Fancy Dress Sunday with prizes for the best dressed swimmers (though no costumes in the pool please!), prizes for the best dressed coaches and a proper disco with a DJ to keep you entertained - all of which adds up to a unique, fun atmosphere.

Recent years have also seen charity fundraising swims by veterans - including former National and International swimmers - that have helped good causes such as Cancer Research and Asthma.

We hope you will join us!

This was a letter that we were very pleased to receive following the 2007 Xmas Meet;

I wonder if you could pass on our comments.

WONDERFUL!

The Xmas meet has been a total pleasure. I speak for many of the parents (City of Salford), particularly the parents of younger swimmers who have experienced your meet for the first time.

We of course 'do the rounds' - from town to town, city to city........................... following the hopes and aspirations of our children. Your meet is uniquely different to anything we have encountered before, and it is easy to see why The City of Salford include it in their 'must swim' galas on their competition programme.

 The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly and yet the standard of competition is extremely high - the number of National swimmers competing bore witness to that.

 We found the volunteer helpers (ESSENTIAL to any club gala), the officials and the staff of Shipley pool along with the City of Bradford to be so warm and welcoming.

 We were told that the Bradford meet is something special - you can be assured that we parents of the younger swimmers will be passing on the same message.

 Again, many thanks - and we are already looking forward to next year.

 David Clayton (parent of Beth Marks, COSSC)
