A small squad of female development swimmers who all train with Leisure Services coaching and training scheme ventured into new territory when they travelled south to Wolverhampton for the popular Chase Swimming Club Roebuck Meet.
Eleven year old Ellie Talbot was prolific in securing five top ten finishes and no less than four medals .These came in the 100m backstroke where she won gold, the 50m and 200m freestyle and 200m individual medley where she secured silver and the 100m breaststroke where she finished in fourth place.
Older sister Imogen shared final placing honours in the 100m breaststroke with a silver medal finish, 200m breaststroke with a bronze finish, 100m backstroke where she finished in fourth place., ninth place in the 50m freestyle and tenth in the 200m individual medley.
Having recently achieved a North East Region qualifying time twelve year old Jessica Foulds was delighted with fifth place in the 100m butterfly, sixth in the 200m individual medley, eighth in the 100m and 200m breastroke, ninth in the 100m and 200m backstroke and tenth in the 200m freestyle.
Youth Development swimmer Jennifer Bonson swam to seventh place in the 200m freestyle and individual medley and eighth in the 400m freestyle.
Hannah Beaumont having recently achieved a North East Region qualifying time an excellent weekend with final placings in the nine years 50m; 100m and 400m freestyle, 100m and 200m backstroke and 200m individual medley. Also reaching finals were newcomers to Junior Development squad Lucy Ward and Chelsie Reardon in the 100m butterfly.
