CITY OF SHEFFIELD NO FRILLS LONG COURSE MEET
28/29th MAY 2011
A squad of National Potential swimmers travelled to Sheffield to compete at the City of Sheffield No Frills Meet. Rostrum places were hard to come by and City had to be content with two medals and a host of personal best long course times.
The medals came in the breaststroke events when David Brown claimed silver in the seventeen and over 100m event in time of 1.08.10 and James Dawson swam to silver in the equivalent fifteen/sixteen year’s age group in time of 1.09.07. Both times were National Youth qualifying times.
Seventeen year old Luke Constantine had final placings in the 200m individual medley, 100m backstroke and freestyle and Sam O’Donohoe, in the 200m medley in a best time of 2.16.37.
All the above swimmers also had best time swims in their additional events.
Other swimmers competing and producing personal best times were, Josh Zenner, Josh Walker, Sophie and Josh Holdsworth, Isobel Stirk, Hannah Midgley, Joanna Gledhill and Jessica Foulds
Head Coach Andy Pearce who coaches all the swimmers under the banner of Bradford Aquatic Development Programme was pleased with the swims which are ideal preparation for this summer’s major championships.
